The Chicago Chapter of the Piano Technicans Guild (PTG) offers a tremendous opportunity for Chicago Chapter members to learn about and practice valuable technical skills related to our trade. The First Tuesday Club meets on the 1st Tuesday evening of every month. Topics range from tuning and temperament to invaluable field repairs. Guest speakers often attend and the core group of visitors has grown steadily.
The PTG requires a rigid series of exams in order to achieve the Registered Piano Technician (RPT) credential. Attendees of First Tuesday are given practice jigs and models for stringing, common repairs and regulation procedures to help prepare for the PTG exams.
Jeff Cappelli (currently President of the Chicago Chapter) leads the group and enjoys the many wonderful friendships found in the Chapter. For more information call Jeff at 708-772-8282.
